The Bathurst Family Fun Day celebrates the importance of families in our community with a completely FREE and unique community festival-like fun day.

Bring your whole family for free fun, games, activities, entertainment, giveaways, workshops, food, jumping castle, prizes and more.

Plus start making something from a cardboard box that you can carry or wear and join the Cardboard Box Parade at 12pm and go into ‘lucky box’ draw to win a prize!

The FREE 2018 School Starters Picnic is on Friday 16th November from 4.30 to 6.30pm at the Adventure Playground, Durham Street Bathurst.

Celebrating this milestone for all children starting big school in 2019. Enjoy FREE fun, games, activities, giveaways and more….

Children were led by African drums as they paraded their awesome cardboard box creations through the 2018 Bathurst Family Fun Day festivities.

Crowds enjoyed the community spirit and festival feel on Sat 19th May at the Bathurst Family Fun Day, where everything was free!

On the day, families told us what they like most: “the whole thing because it’s free, activities, free fun for kids, family-friendly, child-friendly, freebies, music, information about lots of services for children, the support, fab food, seeing what services are available in Bathurst, entertainers, performers, openness and friendliness of it all, everyone was friendly and helpful, variety of activities, sense of community spirit, cardboard box parade, happy spirit and friendliness of the event, people mix with each other, wide variety of activities and stalls, everything, it was the best day ever!”

The BFFD celebrates National Families Week in Bathurst and is for all families to enjoy. There’s fun activities, games, entertainment, food, prizes and more…

Starting big school is an important transition for children and families. It can be exciting for some children but a little scary for others.

Families are important learning partners that help children connect and feel a sense of belonging with their school. Children love it when their teacher knows them and their family – it builds an important emotional bridge between home and school.

Bathurst’s first-ever School Starters Picnic was a success, despite the threat of rain! It was wonderful to see so many children and families enjoying the games and the School Starters Parade. Each school starter received a certificate and a book, plus a drink bottle and an apple. Families told us that they loved the whole event and provided lots of positive comments. They said, “everyone was so friendly and excited for the children”, “keep doing it”, and loved that it “got children together that are starting school next year”.

Come to the School Starters Picnic, Friday 24th November from 4pm-6pm at the Adventure Playground on Durham Street Bathurst for Bathurst’s first-ever School Starters Picnic for all children starting kindergarten in 2018. It’s FREE! Bring the whole family and a picnic, picnic rug or chairs and enjoy free activities, games and entertainment. Bring your 2018 school starter to the registration table on the day to receive their School Starters Certificate. Plus the first 200 school starters to register at the picnic will receive a free gift!
